What is my Design Style?
Design style is a term you often hear in creative industries. Unfortunately, us creatives don’t care for this term because it puts us in a box. We pride ourselves in creating and curating based off of how we feel, what we see, our personal circumstances, and the list goes on.
Next, is furniture and wall decor. I feel like if you like something enough, it can and should be included in any design. Your home should be not only be comforting, but should also tell your story.
Once upon a time, in another life, I used to refinish and rehab furniture; both antique and modern; and everything in between. So when I tell you I have an obsession in furniture, I am OBSESSED with furniture! I love going to the Art museum and appreciating the different kinds of furniture from all over the world and from different time periods. Spending this time, lends to my creativity and vision for the spaces I curate. I am a huge fan of mixing old and new pieces, it creates a visual interest and these pieces serve to compliment one another and your space.
And another aspect that is very important is ART WORK! Art work is another part of design that plays an important role in bringing peace and happiness and tells your story. The amount of art work and styles that exists today is endless. So, combine that with the color story, furniture and other decor; put all of these together plus, your experiences, memories, and what’s important to you; and I create your sanctuary.
So when you ask me what my design style I will tell you I am a pop of color kind of gal and other times I love color saturation (that’s what I call it) because, memories full of love create peace; and I want you to feel these when you are at home. Either way do not expect creams and beiges without pops of colors in my designs!
